Ken became addicted to the bass after being thumped in the chest by Rick Anderson for three hours at his very first Tubes concert, since that day his musical mission has been to be nothing but the glue at the bottom of the stack. Ken’s influences and favorite players include Gary Thain, Scott Thunes, Roger Glover, and Les Claypool, along with a few of the current herd of modern speedy gymnasts that he would most likely pop a plum attempting to play like. Ken’s last name "Bass" is pronounced like the fish but one could argue that being born a "Bass" left him with little choice involving a musical direction.
